SANTA CLARA, Calif.– No. 19 Santa Clara women's soccer heads out on the road for the first time in 2019 to play at Wake Forest Wednesday at 2 p.m. Pacific.
The Broncos opened the season with a tough 3-2 loss to No. 12 Texas A&M but bounced back with a convincing 4-1 win over Oregon.
SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 3-0-1 all-time against Wake Forest with the first meeting coming in 2000. The last meeting was a 1-0 win Santa Clara win at then-Buck Shaw Stadium.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (1-1) has scored six goals in two games while outshooting its opponents 31-22 with a 15-12 edge in shots on goal.
Izzy D'Aquila leads the team with three goals and seven points. Alex Loera, Marika Guay, and Kelsey Turnbow have all added one goal each with D'Aquila, Loera, Kelcie Hedge, Julie Doyle, Machaela George, and Maddy Gonzalez all picking up an assist.
Courtney Ogren has made seven saves with 164 minutes with Sophie Whitehouse adding a save in 16 minutes.
THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest (2-0) dominated in its first two games of the year, outscoring Temple and Appalachian State 5-0. The Demon Deacons outshot their opponents 41-5 with a 19-2 edge in shots on goal.
Five different players scored one goal apiece with six collected one assist each. Hayley Younginer, Hulda Arnarsdottir, and Ryanne Brown all scored and had an assist to lead the team with three points.
Mac Carmichael has one save while playing 135 minutes with Meghan Kennedy adding a save in 45 minutes.
