Baseball With a Gritty Walkoff Win Over Pacific on Saturday
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Coleman Brigman hit a walkoff sacrifice fly RBI in the 11th inning to complete Santa Clara baseball's 7-6 comeback win over Pacific on Saturday, setting up the rubber game on Senior Day Sunday.

With the game tied at 6-all in the bottom of the 11th and facing Tigers reliever Marvcus Guarin, Michael O'Hara drew an 11-pitch walk off to lead off the inning, followed by another bases on balls to Dawson Brigman.  The next batter, Connor Henriques laid down a sacrifice bunt against reliever Joe Solomon but the catcher Joe Fitzhugh was unable to cleanly pickup the ball to load the bases with no out, setting up the stage for Coleman Brigman.

On a 3-1 count, Coleman Brigman hit the ball to right field to easily score O'Hara from third for the game winning run.

The game was a seesaw affair that saw the Broncos come back four times including in the eighth and ninth innings.

Santa Clara (14-26, 7-16) trailed 5-3 in the eighth but Coleman Brigman scored on a wild pitch and Tony Boetto knocked in a run to tie the game up at 5-all.

Pacific (13-28, 3-14) regained the lead in the top half of the ninth against Skylar Hales when they loaded the bases on a walk, a single and an error.  Closer Travis Howard was brought in with the bases loaded and no out but limited the damage to just one run.  He got James McClenaghan to fly out which scored Charles Middleton before retiring Zach Patterson and Luke Price.

In the bottom of the ninth, Mike Bowes pinch hit for Matt Jew and deposited the game-tying home run over the opposite field fence.

Boetto, who went 2-for-4, homered in the fourth to tie the game up at 2-all.

Jeremy Lea had a three-run home run in the seventh that gave the Tigers a 5-3 lead.

For the second-straight game, there were 24 hits total.  The Broncos had 13 hits with Ausin Reyes, Coleman Brigman, Boetto and Ryan McCarthy each collecting two hits.

Thomas Gavello, James Arakawa, Alex LeForestier, Lea and McClenaghan had two hits apiece with Lea driving in a game-high three runs.
