Women's Basketball Inks Four to National Letters of Intent

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball has signed four players to National Letters of Intent for the class of 2024. The Broncos will welcome Lara Edmanson, Emma Ellinghouse, Katie Harris, and Anna Johnson to the program next year.

"We are really excited about the incoming group," Santa Clara head coach Bill Carr said. "We are bringing in four student-athletes who will be great representatives of the university and help our basketball program compete at a high level."

Edmanson was a multi-sport athlete in high school, lettering in water polo, Australian football, track and field, softball, cricket, snowboarding, and basketball.

Her efforts led to her being named Sports Woman of the Year and Sports Achiever of the Year at MLC.

As a senior, Edmanson averaged 14.7 points per game and 11. 5 rebounds per game while shooting 48.6-percent from the field. Her team won the Girls' Sport Victoria competition and progressed to the first round of the Herald Sun Shield.

She has worked with the WNBL team the Melbourne Boomers and was invited to the NBA Global Academy women's camp in Florida in 2019.

She also earned a certificate of distinction in psychology and visual communication design.

In her free time, Edmanson enjoys spending time outside.

Emma Ellinghouse | C | 6-3 | Boise, Idaho | Timberline
Ellinghouse is a team captain during the 2019-20 season. She was all-conference honorable mention in both 2017-18 and 2016-17. During the 2018-19 season, her team finished third in the state tournament.

In the classroom, she won the Southern Idaho Conference Academic Award for having a GPA of 3.5 or higher in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Those same years she was also give the Idaho High School Activities Association Outstanding Scholastic Award.

She was also a swimmer for 12 years and spent eight years on the swim team while playing volleyball in junior high.

In her free time, Ellinghouse enjoys painting canvases, hanging out with friends, and watching movies.

Katie Harris | C/F | 6-7 | Folsom, Calif. | Folsom
Harris was named Sierra Foothill All-League in 2018. That same year she was All-Davis Tournament and the MVP at the Roseville Elite Showcase.

Also a middle hitter in volleyball for one year in high school, Harris is the younger sister of recent Santa Clara transfer Shayley Harris.

In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and traveling.

Anna Johnson | G | 5-10 | Manhattan Beach, Calif. | Redondo Union
Johnson was on varsity all four years at Redondo Union High School where she has been a captain and a team MVP.

She began her career by being named the Redondo Freshman of the Year in 2017. The next season she was named All-CIF Southern Section, Division 2. Last year Johnson was named All-CIF Southern Section, Open Division.

Her team won the CIF, Division 2 state championships in 2018 and also won the Tarkanian Classic. At the conclusion of the 2018-19 season, her team won the Nike Tournament of Champions. They have been Bay League Champions from 2016-20.

In the classroom, Johnson has won the Student-Athlete Award and has been named to the California Scholarship Federation each year. In 2019 she was awarded the AP Scholar Award and will take home the Seal of Biliteracy in 2020.

In her free time, Johnson enjoys going to the beach, reading, spending time with family and friends, riding her bike, and creative writing.
