Women's Basketball Adds Arizona Transfer Bryce Nixon

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball has added Bryce Nixon, a sophomore transfer from Arizona, to the roster for 2020-21. Nixon will have to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.

As a sophomore for the Wildcats, Nixon appeared in 17 games after playing in 33 as a freshman, the third-most of any freshman in program history.

Coming out of Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Ariz., Nixon was rated a four-star guard by PropectsNation.com. She was named All-City three times, All-State Division II twice, and Offensive Player of the Year and All-Arizona as a senior. Nixon scored 20 points per game and added five assists per game as well over her final three season. As a senior, she scored 20-plus points 14 times and registered double-figures in 28 of 29 games. Nixon became just one of three Arizona high schoolers since 1973 to score over 2,000 points and add over 500 assists.

Nixon comes from an athletic family. Her mother Shelley ran track at Texas and was a three-time All-American while her father Chuck played football at San Diego State. In addition to her parents, Nixon's uncle Troy played for the San Francisco 49ers and her uncle Brandon was an Al-American in basketball at UC San Diego.
