Women's Basketball Back Home To Face Long Beach State Friday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – For the first time since Nov. 12, Santa Clara women's basketball will play at home. The Broncos host Long Beach State Friday at 5 p.m.

Santa Clara went to the Titan Classic last week and beat Montana but fell in overtime to Delaware.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 4-0 all-time against Long Beach State with the first meeting coming in 2006. The last meeting was a 68-67 Broncos win in Long Beach Dec. 9, 2012.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (4-3) is averaging 74.9 points per game on 44.1-percent shooting from the field. Defensively, the Broncos allow 66.9 ppg while forcing 14.7 turnovers per contest.

Tia Hay leads the team in scoring (14.6 ppg) and assists (3.9 pg) while going 28-for-30 from the free throw line. Ashlyn Herlihy is second with 11.1 ppg and leads the way with 7.1 rpg. Merle Wiehl is adding 9.9 ppg and 4.3 rpg while tying for the team lead with Addie Walters with 10 3-pointers made. Lauren Yearwood is scoring 9.6 ppg to go with 7.0 rpg and leads the team with 11 blocks.

THE 49ERS
Long Beach State (2-5) is scoring 61.3 ppg while allowing 66.0 pg. The 49ers shoot 38.2-percent from the field and allow a 40.7-percent mark.

Justina King leads the team with 14.1 ppg on 42.2-percent shooting from the field and averages a team best 3.4 apg. Shanaijah Davison scores 13.3 ppg with Ma'Qhi Berry adding 8.7. Cydnee Kinslow's 7.4 rpg and 15 steals are tops on the team and she adds 5.9 ppg as well.

Joe Ritzo and Kevin Danna handle play-by-play duties at home on the WCC Network. All Broncos home games and West Coast Conference contests (not on an ESPN platform, CBS Sports Network or BYUtv) will also be streamed through WCC Network. Kevin Danna will call the action in Tuesday's season opener against UC Santa Cruz.

Group discounts are also available through our ticket office sales and service consultants. Doors to Leavey Center, as well as its ticket office, are open one hour prior to the start of the game.

PARKING
For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. During the weekend, campus parking facilities are free (except for permit required locations). Click here for a campus map and parking restrictions.

The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
