SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball remains on the road and plays at BYU Saturday at 1 p.m. Pacific.

The Broncos lost a tough contest at San Diego Thursday.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 2-18 all-time against BYU with the first meeting coming in 1998-99. Last season the Cougars won both meetings.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (8-11, 2-6 WCC) is scoring with 71.0 points per game while shooting 43.1-percent from the field and 33.7-percent from downtown.

Tia Hay leads the team with 12.4 ppg and is sixth in the conference with 3.7 assists per game. Ashlyn Herlihy leads the team with 7.4 rebounds per game and is second in scoring with 10.2 ppg. Merle Wiehl adds 9.2 ppg and 4.5 rpg while hitting a team high 27 3-pointers. Tamia Braggs' 54.7-percent mark from the floor is tops in the league and she is adding 7.4 ppg and 3.2 rpg while starting the last nine contests.

THE COUGARS 
BYU (11-7, 6-2 WCC) is scoring 61.3 ppg on 38.7-percent shooting from the field and 32.9-percent from beyond the arc. On defense, the Cougars allow 55.8 ppg on 32.8-percent shooting.

Paisley Johnson leads the team with 14.5 ppg while Brenna Drollinger leads with 4.3 apg and 37 3-pointers made while scoring 11.6 ppg. Sara Hamson is tops in the conference with 81 blocks and leads BYU with 8.0 rpg while adding 7.0 ppg.
