Nonconference Play Concludes vs. Fresno State for Women's Basketball

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Nonconference play comes to a close for women's basketball Saturday against Fresno State at 1 p.m. in Leavey Center.

The Broncos went on the road and topped CSUN 76-55 Wednesday night.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 15-25 all-time against Fresno State with the first meeting coming in 1977-78. Last year in Fresno, the Bulldogs topped the Broncos.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-5) averages 71.1 points per game as a team on 44.0-percent shooting from the field and 34.0-percent from downtown. The Broncos allow 64.6 ppg and marks of 37.1-percent and 24.5-percent.

Tia Hay leads the team in scoring (11.7 ppg) and assists (4.0 pg) to go with 3.2 rebounds per game. Ashlyn Herlihy scores 11.5 ppg and is tied for the team lead with 6.9 rpg. Merle Wiehl has knocked down a team high 19 3-pointers while scoring 11.5 ppg and adding 4.1 rpg. Lauren Yearwood's 17 blocks are the most on the team and she scores 9.6 ppg with 6.6 rpg.

THE BULLDOGS
Fresno State (8-3) has won four in a row and five of six. The Bulldogs are scoring 77.1 ppg on 44.4-percent shooting from the field while allowing 66.7 ppg on 42.1-percent shooting.

Hanna Cavinder leads a trio scoring over 65-percent of the team's points. Han. Cavinder scores 17.5 ppg and leads the team with 4.1 apg as well. Maddi Utti is averging 16.5 ppg to go with a team best 7.1 rpg and 2.9 steals per game. Haley Caviner has hit a team high 30 3-pointers while scoring 16.3 ppg and grabbing 6.3 rpg.

All Broncos home games and West Coast Conference contests (not on an ESPN platform, CBS Sports Network or BYUtv) will also be streamed through WCC Network. Kevin Danna will call the action in Tuesday's season opener against UC Santa Cruz.

Group discounts are also available through our ticket office sales and service consultants. Doors to Leavey Center, as well as its ticket office, are open one hour prior to the start of the game.

PARKING
For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. During the weekend, campus parking facilities are free (except for permit required locations). Click here for a campus map and parking restrictions.

The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
