FULLERTON, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball went to overtime against Delaware at the Titan Classic Saturday but fell 81-80.

The Broncos (4-3) were able to build a 5-point lead early in the extra session but the Fightin' Blue Hens (2-4) came right back with five of their own to even the score. A jumper by Ashlyn Herlihy gave Santa Clara an 80-78 lead with 36 left on the clock, but Lizzie O'Leary knocked down a 3-pointer on the next possession for what turned out to be the game winner.

The Broncos managed to get a shot with seven seconds on the clock and forced a turnover after a defensive rebound, but Addi Walters' 3-point attempt as the clock expired was off the mark.

The game went into overtime after Walter's made a layup with five seconds left in the fourth to answer a jumper by Jasmine Dickey with eight seconds on the clock.

Tia Hay led the team with 17 points, her fifth straight with at least 13, on 6-for-10 shooting from the floor while adding six assists. Lauren Yearwood picked up her second double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

After getting a 3-pointer from Rebecca Lawrence for the final points of the first half, the Blue Hens scored the first four points of the third quarter to take their first lead of the game at 39-38.

Later in the third, Samone Defreese's 3-pointer started a 7-0 run that featured back-to-back buckets by Nicole Enabosi and gave Delaware a 53-47 lead with 1:47 to go.

Enabosi finished with a game high 32 points while also adding eight rebounds and five assists. Dickey scored 17 with 10 rebounds for the double-double and O'Leary scored 10 with eight boards.

An 11-1 stretch for Santa Clara that featured a pair of buckets from Hay and five points from Merle Wiehl, turned a five-point deficit into a 65-59 lead at the 3:13 mark of the fourth quarter.

Wiehl (11), Herlihy (11), and Emily Wolph (10) all reached double figures for Santa Clara.

The Broncos got off to a quick start and used a pair of 6-0 runs in the first quarter to put some distance between themselves and Delaware. The first was started with a 3-pointer by Lindsay VanAllen and capped by three points by Hay to make it 14-7 at the 6:08 mark.
