Women's Basketball Faces San Francisco Saturday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball returns to Leavey Center Saturday for a 2 p.m. matchup with San Francisco.

The Broncos fell at San Diego and BYU last week.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 63-40 all-time against San Francisco with the first meeting coming in 1964-65. Earlier this season, the Broncos won on the Hilltop 80-72.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (8-12, 2-7 WCC) averages 69.8 points per game as a team on 42.1-percent shooting from the field and 33.2-percent from beyond the arc. The Broncos are allowing 68.3 ppg and marks of 39.3-percent and 27.6-percent.

Tia Hay leads Santa Clara with 12.4 ppg and would lead the country at 94.7-percent from the free throw line if she had enough attempts to qualify. She also leads the Broncos with 3.7 assists per game. Ashlyn Herlihy grabs a team best 7.6 rebounds per game while scoring 10.3 ppg. Merle Wiehl adds 9.2 ppg and has hit a team high 27 3-pointers while Lauren Yearwood is averaging 6.8 ppg and 5.7 rpg with 25 blocks.

THE DONS 

San Francisco (7-14, 0-9 WCC) are scoring 66.0 ppg on 39.1-percent shooting from the floor and 32.5-percent from downtown. The Dons allow 72.0 ppg and opponents are shooting 43.4-percent from the field and 36.0-percent from 3-point land.

Ioanna Krimili leads the team with 15.6 ppg. Lucie Hoskova has knocked down a team high 30 3-pointers while scoring 15.0 ppg and shooting a team best 46.6-percent from the field. Mikayla Williams scores 14.4 ppg to go with 8.9 rpg and Leilah Vigil has a conference high 9.9 rpg and adds 10.1 ppg.

All Broncos home games and West Coast Conference contests (not on an ESPN platform, CBS Sports Network or BYUtv) will also be streamed through WCC Network. Kevin Danna will call the action in Tuesday's season opener against UC Santa Cruz.

Group discounts are also available through our ticket office sales and service consultants. Doors to Leavey Center, as well as its ticket office, are open one hour prior to the start of the game.

PARKING
For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. During the weekend, campus parking facilities are free (except for permit required locations). Click here for a campus map and parking restrictions.

The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
