SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball has added two players to the 2024 roster. Koen Carston and Payton Lambert will join the Broncos next season.

Koen Carston | C/UT | 5-10 | Davis Senior High School | Woodland, Calif.

Carston was a starter on his high school team since his freshman year. He brings a multidimensional ability on the field with his primary position being catcher.

In a game for the club team Alpha Prime, he played all nine positions. He was the defensive player of the summer in back-to-back years.

His toughness has been a stand out to the coaching staff.

Carston has also been a fixture in the community working as a Little League coach.

Payton Lambert | IF/OF | 6-1 | Pendleton High School | Pendleton, Ore.

Lambert was the IMC Player of the Year as a sophomore and was named first team as an infielder. His junior year, he was all-state honorable mention and again named to the first team as an infielder. He is a physical and athletic player that produced big seasons through his high school career. Lambert will show off the athleticism as a utility player that can play all over the diamond.

He played for Baum Bat NW Club Baseball where he hit in the middle of the order and played in the middle of the diamond.

Lambert was also a standout football player at Pendleton.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, camping, and hanging out with friends.
