  • Santa Clara topped Cal Poly on Tuesday in a midweek game before going on the road and sweeping Pepperdine FridaySaturday, and Sunday.
  • Santa Clara is hitting .287/.394/.478 as a team with 250 runs scored on 72 doubles, 12 triples, and 51 home runs.
  • Robert Hipwell is leading the team in batting average (.328), OBP (.483, first in the WCC) slugging percentage (second in the WCC), walks (35, first in the WCC), and runs (40). He is second with 12 home runs, 12 doubles, and 25 RBIs. Efrain Manzo is slashing .320/.419/.693 with a team leading 13 home runs, 13 doubles, and 36 RBIs. JonJon Berring has a .302 average with a .408 OBP and has scored 19 times with 17 RBIs. Malcolm Williams leads the team with 14 steals in 17 attempts and has scored 23 runs and knocked in 22.
  • On the mound, Santa Clara has a 4.54 ERA, with 329 strikeouts against 141 walks in 341 innings.
  • The ERA is 39th in the nation and tops on the WCC. The Broncos hits per nine innings of 8.23 is 31st nationally and leads the conference. Their strikeout to walk ratio of 2.33 is 49th in the country and second in the WCC. The 3.72 walks per nine innings is 34th nationally and second in the conference.
  • Cole Kitchen's 56 innings and are the most on the team and he is second with 48 strikeouts. He has started 11 games and appeared in 12 with a 4.02 ERA. His 6.75 hits per nine innings is first in the WCC. Skylar Hales has 46 punchouts in 36 1/3 innings and a 2.72 ERA with three saves, tied with August Souza, who has a 1.47 ERA, the lowest on the team, for the most on the roster. Blake Hammond has appeared in 14 games out of the bullpen and thrown 35 2/3 innings with a team-high 51 strikeouts and has a 1.77 ERA. Brandon Gomez's 5.29 strikeout-to-walk ratio is 35th nationally and his 1.64 walks per nine is 29th.
  • Blake Hammond won WCC Pitcher of the Week on May 1.
  • Brandon Gomez was named WCC co-Pitcher of the Week on March 20, giving the Broncos three-straight honors.
  • Santa Clara swept the WCC weekly awards on March 13 with Efrain Manzo being named the Player of the Week and Skylar Hales the Pitcher of the Week.
  • Cole Kitchen was named the WCC Pitcher of the Week on March 6.
  • The Broncos have three walkoff home runs this year. Coleman Brigman hit a two-run shot in the 11th against Villanova on March 12. Efrain Manzo then did it on March 26 against San Diego, also in the 11th inning. Manzo did it again on April 25 vs. Cal Poly in the 10th.
  • Since taking over before the 2018 season, head coach Rusty Filter is 8-1 against Cal Poly after sweeping the season series.
  • Santa Clara knocked off No. 2 Stanford on the road March 7.
  • It was the Broncos first win over Stanford since the finale of a four-game series in 2021. Santa Clara's last midweek win over the Cardinal came in 2016 and the last win in Palo Alto came in 2015.
  • On April 15, the Broncos welcomed back the 1962 College World Series team that finished as national runners up for a 60th anniversary celebration.
  • The Broncos 2022 recruiting class was top-65 according to Perfect Game and tops in the WCC. Twelve join the team as freshman with five transferring in.
  • The renovations at Schott Stadium are complete. The renovations include a completely new turn playing surface, padded fence around the stadium, a new batter's eye, all new chair back seats inside the stadium, and a remodel of the VIP Suite and press box.
