NOTES

• Santa Clara was led bits bats over the first series of the year. As a team the Broncos hit .277/.410/.531 with 29 runs scored on eight doubles, two triples, and seven home runs. The seven home runs through four games is already a quarter of the way to their total of 28 from last year's 53 games.
• Dawson Brigman leads the team in hitting with a .462 batting average and a .611 on-base percentage and is second with a .846 slugging percentage. He has three doubles, a triple, and five runs scored to go with two RBIs, five walks, and two stolen bases. Jack Harnisch leads the team with three home runs, his total in four years at Fordham, and a .938 slugging percentage. He has scored five runs and added a double as well to go with a team-high five RBIs. Malcolm Williams also has five RBIs and is hitting .357 with Efrain Manzo adding two home runs.
• On the mound, Santa Clara surrendered 29 runs in 36 innings of work with 41 strikeouts.
• Blake Hammond tossed 5 scoreless innings out of the bullpen and struck out a team-high-tying seven. In 3 1/3 innings of relief, Cade Pilchard didn't allow a run with five punchouts. Both picked up wins. Skylar Hales has also struck out seven in 3 2/3 innings to tie with Hammond for the team lead.
• The Broncos 2022 recruiting class was top-65 according to Perfect Game and tops in the WCC.  Twelve join the team as freshman with five transferring in.
• With Schott Stadium currently under construction for renovations, the home series with Villanova will potentially be played at a local off-campus site. The renovations include a completely new turn playing surface, padded fence around the stadium, a new batter's eye, all new chair back seats inside the stadium, and a remodel of the VIP Suite and press box.
