Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Brandon Gomez

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the third member of the 2022 recruiting class, Brandon Gomez.  The left-handed pitcher hails from Winters, California by way of Sierra College in Rocklin.

"I chose Santa Clara because of the atmosphere that the coaches bring to the team," said Gomez.  "I see a lot of myself and relate to the passion and drive they have so what better place to be than a place where someone who is trying to help me, has the same drive as me and receive a great education while doing it."

The six-foot southpaw racked up 24 wins from the 2017 to 2019 campaign at Winters High with a 1.56 ERA, striking out 134 batters while walking just 26 over 148 innings.  A multi-sport athlete, Gomez wrestled for four years and also played basketball for a year with the Warriors.

"Brandon will be a big part of our pitching staff the moment he steps foot on campus next year," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.  "He will add great value to our pitching staff and our culture.  Coming from Sierra JC, we know he'll face quality competition and be prepared for Santa Clara."

Our next future Bronco, Bryce Padilla, will be announced the week of December 6.
