Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Thomas Ferroggiaro

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the eighth member of the 2022 recruiting class, Thomas Ferroggiaro, a switch-hitting infielder from Catholic Central High School in Portland, Oregon.

"I chose Santa Clara because I wanted a smaller school with exceptional academics and athletics programs," said Ferroggiaro.  "I was incredibly excited and honored that the Broncos baseball coaches felt that I was a good choice."

Last season, the 5-foot-10 Ferroggiaro was named First Team All-Mount Hood Conference and followed up with a strong summer, batting above .600 in Perfect Game Tournaments and led his team in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging, and RBIs.

"Thomas caught our attention quickly with his ability to hit from both sides of the plate and play anywhere on the dirt," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter. "Thomas shows strong leadership qualities, goes about his business the right way and is always where he should be on the field. He comes from two great programs in Central Catholic and CBA."

An honor roll student, Ferroggiaro is a member of the National Honor Society and a Multnomah Athletic Club Scholar Athlete.

Our next future Bronco, Gavin Rognlien, will be announced the week of January 10.
