Five Baseball Players Named All-WCC

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball had five players honored on the All-West Coast Conference Teams on Tuesday.

Cole Kitchen and Nick Sando were named to the second team with Coleman Brigman, Skylar Hales, and Eamonn Lance on the honorable mention list.

Kitchen finished the season with 15 appearances, including 14 starts, a team-high. In 72 1/3 innings, also a team-best, he struck out 101 batters becoming the first Bronco to reach triple-digits since 2017. Kitchen ended the year with four wins.

Sando pitched in 20 games and made five starts while posting a team-high four saves. In 51 1/3 innings Sando punched out an impressive 79 for a 13.85 K/9, curently fourth in the nation. He picked up four wins as well.

Brigman finished the year hitting .292/.361/.476 in 51 games. He led the team in runs scored (38), RBIs (34), and doubles (16). He tied for the team lead with five home runs and added four triples as well while stealing 11 bases. He picked up two walkoff hits in the span of three games early in the season.

Hales pitched in 15 games and made 12 starts. In 69 2/3 innings Hales struck out 75, third-most on the team while posting three wins.

Lance led the team with a .415 on-base percentage while hitting .295 with a .482 slugging percentage. He tied with Brigman with five home runs and added 24 RBIs with 22 runs scored.
