SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara baseball announced the sixth member of the 2022 recruiting class, Caden Thompson, a versatile infielder out of Woodcreek High School in Roseville, California.
"I chose Santa Clara because of the incredible opportunity this university provides for its students," said Thompson. "I will get a world class education, and I will get to play at one of the best college baseball venues in California."
The right-handed hitting Thompson hit .500 in 24 games for the Timberwolf last season with an impressive .608 on-base percentage, safely reaching base in all but one game.
The 5-foot-9, 170 pound Thompson stole 21 bases and scored 31 runs while committing just two errors, playing primarily at shortstop.
"Caden is a baseball player. We are excited to get Caden on campus," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter. "He is an ultimate competitor with great makeup. He has the ability to play anywhere on the infield and will compete for a spot right out of the gate. Caden comes from a great high school program and travel club in Woodcreek and The Alpha Movement."
Our next future Bronco, Caden Wooster, will be announced the week of December 27.
