Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Bryce Padilla

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara baseball announced the fourth member of the 2022 recruiting class, Bryce Padilla.  The right-handed pitcher from San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California is a two-time preseason underclass All-American by Perfect Game.

"The reason I chose Santa Clara University was because of the success they have on and off the field," said Padilla.  "They have one of the most prestigious academic programs in the world as well as their athletic programs. I wanted to be part of this winning culture, so I chose to be a Bronco."

The 5-foot-10 Padilla posted a 4-0 record with a 1.52 ERA during his junior season.  He struck out 29 batters over 23 innings while holding the opposition to an .190 batting average, leading the Panthers to the County Metro Athletic Conference Championship.

"Bryce is a bulldog that goes out each time with a chip on his shoulder," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.  "He makes our team tougher and when you combine that with his ability to throw a plus slider, it's what we need.  Bryce comes from great baseball programs in San Joaquin Memorial and The Alpha Movement."

Our next future Bronco, Jace Root, will be announced the week of December 13.
